BULLDOGS & GLORY KICK GOALS TOGETHER

Thursday, September 2, 2021 - 2:16 PM

The South Fremantle Football Club is pleased to announce a new partnership arrangement with the Perth Glory that will see the A-League Club relocate to Fremantle Community Bank Oval.

The arrangement, which also involves the City of Fremantle as primary stakeholder and deal broker, will see South Fremantle’s football department facilities shared with the Glory in an interim, off-peak basis, inclusive of the gym, changeroom, medical and physio services.

The shared-use arrangements will be in place for several months whilst the City of Fremantle prepare to accommodate the full Perth Glory organisation in the old Dockers building/current Council offices on a mid-term lease basis.

Fremantle Community Bank Oval will become a true community sporting hub with some limited Perth Glory world-game content to complement existing ground usage by South Fremantle's WAFL & WAFLW footy needs and the Fremantle Dockers AFLW home fixtures.

South Fremantle CEO Cameron Britt welcomes Perth Glory to the Port City.

“The Perth Glory are a proud A-League Club, with strong traditions and a big local following”

“We have been an advocate for their relocation to Fremantle, as it assists our Club’s commercial sustainability along with further strengthening the call for priority investment to improve and upgrade the Oval precinct”

“It is our firm belief that Fremantle Community Bank Oval is one of the best sporting venues in the State, a genuine community asset, and the Glory’s preference to operate from here is testament to this belief” Britt said.

The innovative cross-code arrangement is also expected to deliver some limited Perth Glory match content played directly at Fremantle Community Bank Oval during the Summer 21/22 period, including A-League pre-season & W-League fixtures.
