Bulldogs maintain top spot with 10-goal win over Demons

Monday, May 8, 2017 - 3:32 PM - by Chris Pike

SOUTH Fremantle continued its dominant WAFL form with a 60-point in over Perth at Lathlain Park on Saturday giving the Bulldogs five straight wins this season and seven on the trot against the Demons.

It was always going to be a big task for the one-win Perth to challenge a South Fremantle who has lost just once this season.

The final scoreline of South Fremantle winning 22.14 (146) to 13.8 (86) suggests a comfortable win for the Bulldogs, but it doesn’t tell the full story of a competitive Demons effort who ensured South Fremantle had to work hard to beat them.

Player Column – Adam McIntosh Round 8

Saturday, May 6, 2017 - 10:03 AM - by Adam McIntosh

I DID enjoy the week off that we've just had. Personally I probably needed it because I didn’t do much of the pre-season as I spoke about in my first column and I think everyone could have used a bit of a rest after those first six games and two practice games.

Everyone is refreshed now and ready to go against Perth on Saturday at Lathlain Park.

I'm a little surprised to be honest that I was able to play all of those first six games just because of my preparation due to my leg. But it has been feeling really good on game day, it just takes a while longer to recover and it's still sore early in the week. But each week it's getting stronger and once that continues to improve, my training will get better and my form on game day will pick up in the second half of the season as well.

Todd Curley Q and A – ANZAC Day Derby

Saturday, April 29, 2017 - 12:30 PM - by Matt Barnsley

SOUTH Fremantle coach Todd Curley speaking after the Bulldogs' ANZAC Day Derby victory over East Fremantle ahead of the bye this week and then a clash with Perth at Lathlain Park in Round 8.

QUESTION: If I told you when you were 19 points down midway through the third quarter that you'd win by 41 and it could have been more, you would have taken that?
ANSWER:
Definitely we would take the four points before the game anytime, especially in a derby. Looks like we got through unscathed, we certainly weren’t at our best I thought we warmed to it half way through the third quarter. To kick 13.22 and have 68 inside 50’s the score board maybe doesn’t do it justice but I guess that’s down to East Fremantle’s pressure to force us not to play our way.
