Colts Report - Round 18

Posted on 23/07/2012

Gone are the slow starts for the colts side over the last two weeks, but they have been replaced with poor performances and the later stages of the our games. After appearing to run home with a an easy lead over the Subiaco boys, the South colts side playing an individual game style which is completely against the grain they have been showing for most of the season. Only a couple were to show the hunger at every contest and give an effort worthy of being among the better players. Brendan Verrier ran tirelessly all day and gave support to team mates at both ends of the ground. Sheldon Taylor again did a workman like role in and under to feed out the ball to support runners and set up play for our forward thrusts. The KCraft Bullbars best player award went to our tough hard tackling forward Blaine Johnson. His hunger for the contest was again outstanding and was easily setting the standard that others in the team should aspire to. Unfortunately too few took the opportunity to work hard and crush the resurgent Subiaco side. Signs were good early and it was pleasing to see glimpses of our best. A weeks break and then we look to revenge our poor performance against the Perth side just three weeks ago.
