JASON Ireland has been charged with the job of continuing the strong run of the South Fremantle Football Club's colts after being appointed as the new coach of the team.

Ireland will take over as the colts coach at the South Fremantle Football Club for the 2015 WAFL season with the team coming off a terrific run including the 2011 premiership, 2012 premiership, 2013 grand final and 2014 preliminary final.

Ireland replaces Arthur Maskos as the colts coach and the South Fremantle Football Club wishes to thank Arthur for his efforts with the team and his success in building the group not only into a powerful unit together, but creating a host of future AFL and WAFL players by his coaching.

The initial success that Ireland had as a coach with South Fremantle began with the Warriors development programs where he was coach of the teams in 14s, 15s and 16s age groups.

That also saw him acknowledged by the Department of Sport and Recreation when he was named the Community Coach of the Year in 2010 for his work as 16s development coach and the coaching co-ordinator with the South Fremantle Football Club.

Ireland then made the jump in 2012 to begin a two-year run under Maskos as an assistant coach in the colts team and in that time he was part of the 2012 premiership-winning team and the 2013 grand final side.

He then made the jump in 2014 to be a league assistant coach to Paul Hasleby where he was the forward-line coach.

Ireland now takes over as the South Fremantle colts coach for 2015 joining league coach Todd Curley in an exciting new era at the Bulldogs.
