COLTS HEAD COACH APPOINTED
South Fremantle Football Club is pleased to announce that Matt Rogers has accepted the position of Head Coach of the Colts program for the 2024 & 2025 seasons.
Following a comprehensive selection process that involved interviews with five qualified coaching candidates, Matt emerged as the unanimous choice of our recruitment panel which included Talent Manager Dan Marie, coaching & industry stalwart Tony Micale and recruiting expert Ian White.
Matt has previously served as the Head Coach at Wesley Curtin A-Grade Colts for the past two years. During this tenure, he led the team to the 2023 Premiership.
His coaching approach is noted for nurturing a culture of selfless play and an uncomplicated game style that players strongly resonate with.
Matt played 161 WAFL League games for both Perth and Swan Districts Football Clubs, giving him a rich background in WAFL footy.
He also has valuable personal experience, having come through the Colts system, giving him a deep understanding of what is required by a young footballer at this level.
Matt impressed the Club with his high energy, and focus on building strong player relationships whilst possessing a winner’s mentality.
Matt has commenced planning for the upcoming pre-season and will be meeting all incumbent Assistant Coaches and Support Staff as an initial priority.
Welcome to the Port City, Matt!
