LIFE MEMBERS LUNCH - A BIG SUCCESS

Tuesday, May 30, 2023 - 11:36 AM

On Sunday the 28th of May, the club held its annual Life members lunch - A great day for all involved.

Many familiar faces of those who have been involved in our club for years, and some new faces who were proudly inducted as Life Members. All of which are very deserving.

We also saw 4 Lifetime Members inducted after 50 years of consecutive membership, an incredible achievement. Congratulations to Barry Lucanus, Raymond Yukich, Geoffrey Higham, and Vince Stanley. We are extremely grateful for your ongoing support.

It was an incredible day for Peter Matier, Les Olivieri, Anthony Van der Wielen, and Zac Strom who were all inducted as Life Members of the South Fremantle Fotoball Club.

Peter Matier has volunteered at South Fremantle for over 20 years. He has been the Reserves Team Manager since 2004 and still continues in this role very well. Peter was our runner in 2002 and then the following year he stepped up as coach's assistant. A loyal member, Peter.

Les Olivieri has been a stand-out supporter of our club for over 17 years, not only a runner and training assistant but much more. He has sponsored the club for over 12 years at varying levels including Player, Corporate, and a Club sponsor. Les also volunteered to paint the Player Races and Media box and continues to offer his service where needed. Thank you, Les.

A Board Member for over 13 years and now Vice President, Anthony Van der Wielen. Anthony was elected Director and did 8 seasons from 2008-2015. Coming back as director in 2018, he continues in his role today! Leading the Football Committee, Anthony plays an important part in our club as we pursue Premierships across all grades at Fremantle Oval.

156 + League games Zac Strom qualifies for automatic Life Membership. Zac came from SFFC's Gascoyne Region (Exmouth) and has excelled in our League Side since his debut in 2013. Zac also being a worthy recipient of the WJ Hughes medal in 2020, after also playing in our winning Premiership.
