The City of Fremantle have announced an important step in the evolution of a Fremantle Oval and Precinct redevelopment, with Council formally establishing and endorsing a Key Stakeholder Working Group.

Souths CEO Cameron Britt (pictured left) will join City Mayor Hannah Fitzhardinge, CEO Glen Dougall (pictured right), plus other City Councillors and representatives from the Fremantle Football Club and the West Australian Football Commission on the Group.

The purpose of the Working Group is to:

1. Provide high-level project direction and coordination between partners
2. Identify advocacy and funding opportunities
3. Monitor progress and activities
4. Identify how and when community engagement should occur.

The South Fremantle Football Club has occupied Fremantle Oval for 123 years and is committed to working together with the City of Fremantle and all project Stakeholders, in redeveloping a regionally historic precinct in the heart of the Port City, for the benefit of the local community.

Cameron Britt believes the Working Group is a step in the right direction and represents a new momentum for the project.

"It’s important that South Fremantle Football Club and our needs and requirements are represented in the Working Group, as we are effectively planning our future home.
The Bulldogs are synonymous with Fremantle, and its' Oval, and we look forward to achieving a fantastic football and community outcome for future generations"
Britt said.

South Fremantle is committed to delivering a modern, reinvigorated and vibrant Fremantle Oval for all fans, players and stakeholders.
