South Fremantle Launch 120 Year Brand

Tuesday, December 10, 2019 - 9:57 AM

THE South Fremantle Football Club ('the Club') has today launched a 120-year brand that will be adopted across the 2020 season to celebrate the Club’s 120th year.

Established in 1900, the Club is a pillar of the Fremantle and surrounding communities and enjoys being one of the most recognisable and blue-chip sporting brands in Western Australia.

Recognised as ‘The Premier Family Club’, the South Fremantle ‘way’ has long been about offering a sporting destination for all.

To celebrate the Club’s rich history and the contribution and legacy of all people who have played a part in the club’s amazing story, a new 120-year brand has been designed to appropriately mark the milestone.

The brand’s dominant feature is the iconic South Fremantle Red V, that famous feature emblazoned across the chest of all footballers who don the storied Bulldogs guernsey.

The brand also features the Bulldog image, a link to our proud nickname, and the gold trim is a statement of quality, of enduring success and of pride and prestige.

South Fremantle Chief Executive Officer Cameron Britt welcomed the new brand for the club’s milestone year and its tie-in with events and activities during the 2020 season.

"The South Fremantle story, a remarkable story, is one developed over 120 years. In 2020 we will commemorate and celebrate this proud narrative and welcome everyone into our great club to share in this process," Britt said.

The 120-year brand is a strong and clear symbol to the broader community that we cherish and celebrate our rich past, whilst maintaining a focus for a bright and sustainable future.

“Just as our athletes are hard at work preparing for their respective 2020 seasons, our Board and Staff are working hard to ensure a significant 120th year for South Fremantle, inclusive of providing the most exciting and accessible opportunities for everyone to join the party."

The 120th year, in 2020, will also feature the celebrations of the 1950, 1970, 1980 and 2005 premiership reunions, thus creating a highly significant year of recognition and celebration ahead.

Stay tuned for further information to come shortly relating to the Club’s 2020 marquee events schedule, which will feature a range of opportunities to play your part in celebrating 120 years of the South Fremantle Football Club.
