DIRECTOR'S PROFILES

Haydn Raitt – President
Haydn was appointed to the board of the South Fremantle Football club in 1999 and served in a variety of portfolios including senior football, social and marketing. Haydn was elected unopposed as president in 2009 and overseas many initiatives including strategic development issues and future directions of the club. Haydn and wife Sue are the joint proprietors of Farrington Drycleaners, voted Australia’s Drycleaner of the Year.

Peter Christie – Vice President
Peter was appointed to the board in 2003 as Director of Senior Football and became Vice President in 2010. Peter oversees the Football Department and assists the Football Manager and Coaches in football operations, and chairs the Football Executive meetings. Peter is a qualified Accountant who runs his own extensive hospitality and property development interests.

 

 

Sal Capolingua – Treasurer
Sal joined the board in 1990 and has fulfilled the role of Treasurer for the greater majority of that time. In 1996 Sal was appointed Vice President and has held that position until 2009. Sal is an accountant with G Capolingua & Associates Pty Ltd and is responsible for presenting the financial figures to the board on a monthly basis.

Don Pasqua – Director
Don was appointed to the board in 1992 and has been actively involved in assisting the club in attracting sponsors and overseeing many fund raising activities. Don holds the position of chairman of the Centurion Club. Don is joint owner of Warrens Menswear a very successful Fremantle business which has sponsored the club for over 50 years.

Anthony Van Der Wielen – Director
Anthony commenced on the board in 2009 in the portfolio of Marketing and Fundraising. He also assists the senior football department in recruitment and welfare. A property developer and board member of a number of large companies, Anthony now runs and owns a very successful real estate firm Empire Property Solutions, and is a player manager to some of the game's great AFL players, past and present, over the past 10 years.

Brad Collard – Director
Brad joined the board in 2010 after a very successful career as a captain and 200 game player with the club. Heavily involved in Talent Development he works closely with the Pathway Development Officer to ensure the club's talent programs are run efficiently. Brad is a director of Gilmore Football Academy which is part of the Clontarf Foundation.

David Strom - Director
David joined the board in 2011. David has been an ardent Bulldogs supporter since working on the hospital site overlooking the training and playing oval in 1979. With four children and one grandson, David appreciates the Bulldogs motto of the “Premier Family Club". David and his wife Sarah own the highly successful Gate Bar and Bistro in Success, and has recently opened a new property in Ellenbrook, the Brook Bar and Bistro. Through his business experience over 30 years in hospitality David hopes to be able to help out with sponsorship and general guidance around the Club.

Gavin Jahn - Director
Gavin joined the board in 2012 having supported the club all his life particularly watching the great players of the club as a young boy. Gavin is an academic with both legal and accounting qualifications who will take on the role of special projects to help grow the financial support of the club by engaging the corporate sector. Gavin has been an AFL Accredited Agent since 1997 with a strong background in negotiation and mediation.

 

Coaches

 

League Coach - Paul Hasleby

Paul grew up playing football in Northampton, a small town north of Perth. He moved to Perth to attend secondary school at Mazenod College where he played football, cricket and tennis. He represented WA in both the Under 16s and Under 18s national championships and won the Larke Medal for the best player at the 1999 Under 18 carnival. In 1999 he played 18 games of league football with East Fremantle and won the club's best and fairest award, the Lynn Medal.

In the 1999 AFL Draft Paul was taken by the Fremantle Dockers. He immediately showed why he was so highly regarded with 30 possessions in his debut game in round 1 2000. He was awarded the AFL Rising Star nomination for that game. His form continued throughout his football career.
